Squirting Coach Answers 9 Most Common Questions About Squirting

In this article, I’m going to answer your top questions on squirting. Is squirting actually a thing? What exactly is squirt? And if you can’t do it or can’t make your partner squirt, why is that the case?
Hey, I’m Phoenix Blake, sex coach and educator, and I’ve got a full course on squirting where I teach people the exact techniques that I use to make many of my partners squirt. If you want to learn those techniques, you can go to passionately.com/squirt.
But despite having that course and many other videos on squirting, a lot of people continue to ask me similar questions about squirting.
1. What Is Squirting?

Squirting is the involuntary ejaculation of fluid from the vulva, usually from the urethra, but it also comes from the Skene’s glands as well.
People generally experience two different types of squirting. You’ve got your creaming where things just get a lot wetter down there. The consistency of the ejaculate is thicker and a little bit whiter sometimes.
And then you’ve got your gushing or what most people think of as squirting, which is where you get a big expulsion of fluid and sometimes it can even shoot across the room.
2. Is Squirting Actually A Thing?

I remember meeting up with a woman and we were talking about squirting, and she was saying that her and her friends discussed it and none of them had been able to squirt. So they decided that squirting wasn’t actually a thing. It was just something fake that was in porn and it wasn’t actually real.
Well, I can attest to say that yes, squirting is a thing. And while this woman had her doubts at the beginning of the night, by the end of the night, she was able to squirt for the first time and she was converted into a believer.
The squirting that you see in porn isn’t always real. There are some women who are really good at squirting. So some of the squirting that you see is real.
However, sometimes women fill up their vaginas with water so it looks like they’re squirting, or they simply drink a lot of water before a scene and then wee to make it look like squirt.
3. Is Squirt Wee?

Unfortunately, there’s no purely definitive answer on this. The studies that have been done on squirt have been incredibly small, with one study having just seven women in it.
And while in that study it seemed that the majority of squirt was made up of urine, five out of seven of those women had prostate-specific antigen in their squirt, which is similar to prostatic fluid in a male.
From personal experience, I will say that squirting ejaculate does taste different from the usual flavor of a woman’s wetness. And it does taste a little bit more like urine.
But I think at the end of the day, who fucking cares? Squirting is incredibly sexy. It’s incredibly pleasurable for the person who’s squirting. And it can just be a mind blowing experience for everyone involved.
Even if there is a little bit of wee in there, who cares? Most people are going to absolutely love it when their partner squirts and they’re not going to be grossed out by it. It’s really easy to clean up afterwards anyway.
4. Can All Women Squirt?

I obviously can’t speak for every woman in the world. However, all women have the anatomy required to squirt.
The gushing type of squirting comes out of the urethra. So if you have a urethra, then chances are you can squirt.
I would say my success rate when I’m with a woman and we’re trying to make her squirt is around 90% to 95%. So from my personal experience, almost every woman can squirt. And the ones who couldn’t, usually there was something holding them back.
5. Why Can’t I Squirt?

Or why can’t my partner squirt if I’m trying to make them squirt? There are a few different things that I’ve noticed tend to hold people back from squirting.
The first is just shame around it, worrying about whether it’s wee, not wanting to let the fluid out and being embarrassed about potentially wetting the bed. This shame and stigma around squirting can stop women from getting as aroused as they need to be in order to squirt because you do need quite a high level of arousal in order to squirt.
And what you’ll notice is that when you’re about to squirt, it almost feels like you need to wee, and many women will actually clench their pelvic floor muscles in this instance in order to hold the squirt in rather than relaxing and pushing it out, which is what they need to do.
This tensing of the pelvic floor muscles also makes it more difficult on the giver because when I’m trying to make someone squirt and they squeeze tight around my fingers, all of a sudden it becomes a lot harder to move my fingers and my arm back and forth, which leads to fatigue for me. So I can’t do it as long to bring you to that squirting orgasm.
An overtight pelvic floor can also make it difficult for some women to squirt.
And honestly, the reason that you might not be able to squirt or your partner might not be able to squirt is poor technique. Many people don’t know the right technique to make their partner squirt. And while the technique is quite simple, there is some nuance to it in exactly what you want to do with your fingers and your arm, different positions of your wrist, as well as body positions.
If you want to learn the exact techniques that I use to make the majority of my partners squirt, then go to passionately.com/squirt and you can get access to that course.
In that course, I go through everything in detail from timing and arousal to warming your partner up and pleasuring the G-spot, giving them G-spot orgasms, and then ultimately the techniques that you need to make them squirt.
6. What Does Squirting Feel Like?

Now, obviously, I can’t speak from experience of this one because I’ve never actually squirted myself. I don’t have a vulva, but I can share what women have shared with me.
And something that’s very common is right before you’re about to squirt, it does feel a little bit like you need to wee. This can obviously be nerve-wracking for some women and it’s when some people clench those pelvic floors and stop the squirt from happening. But when this happens, you need to relax and push and almost bear down and then the squirting can happen.
Often squirting and orgasm are combined, but they don’t actually have to be. You can obviously orgasm without squirting, but you can squirt without orgasming as well.
Women have described the squirting orgasm as much more of a full body sensation compared to a clitoral orgasm, which is much more localized in the vulva. Women have talked about it feeling overwhelming and just feeling it rush all the way up their body over their shoulders and their arms and up into their head.
And a very common experience is that after squirting, women are extremely exhausted, almost like a refractory period with men. When men orgasm, they have this period of tiredness. I’ve experienced the same with women where after squirting, they get extremely tired, even to the point where some women have fallen asleep straight after squirting.
7. Can You Learn To Squirt?

For those of you out there who haven’t squirted yet, the answer to this is absolutely yes. You’re not born with the knowledge of how to squirt and it can take some time to identify the feelings in your body and learn how to do it.
I remember the first time I was trying to make my partner squirt. She’d never squirted before. I’d never made anyone squirt before. I did my research, learned the techniques and it took maybe three, four, five sessions before she was able to squirt. And when she did, it was absolutely amazing.
But the next time we thought we’d unlocked it and we tried to do it again and she wasn’t able to do it. However, over time she was able to learn to squirt and squirting became a lot more frequent.
8. Can You Squirt By Yourself?

And you can absolutely squirt by yourself. Many women have had their first experiences squirting when they’re masturbating or they’re using toys on themselves.
In fact, practicing by yourself is one of the best ways to learn how to squirt. There’s no shame because there’s no one there to judge you and you can use the toys that feel really good for you.
If you really want to learn to squirt, I suggest you get a G-spot toy, so you can get G-spot vibrators or you can get a toy like the Njoy.

This toy is curved so when it goes inside you it can go up and press on the G-spot and you can use this by pulling it in and out or you can actually rock it backwards and forwards in order to stimulate the G-spot.
9. Does Squirting Always Equal Orgasm?

And the answer to that is no. When a woman squirts it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s having an orgasm.
A lot of the times it is combined and she’s at that peak arousal and you push her over the edge by using the technique to give her an orgasm and make her squirt at the same time.
However, often women can squirt without orgasming. For those women the squirting still feels really good and it can feel quite overwhelming but it’s not as intense as when you have an orgasm at the same time.
So there you have the nine most common questions that I get about squirting.
