What Is Squirt? Is It Wee?

There’s so much squirting in porn nowadays and a lot of people wanting to make their partners squirt, and honestly, I don’t blame them. It’s amazing.
A lot of people want to know whether or not squirt is actually wee, but what exactly is this squirting liquid and where is it coming from? Should we be ashamed about it or is it just amazing?
Hey, I’m Phoenix Blake from Passionately, sex coach and educator. I absolutely love squirting. I teach guys how to help women squirt.
I think it’s an incredibly fascinating topic and if you’re able to give a woman a squirting orgasm, it can be one of the best experiences for her and I kind of equate it to male ejaculatory orgasm in intensity as well as refractory period. I’ve never seen a woman be so tired and exhausted other than after a squirting orgasm.
So it can be something really beautiful to give to your partner, but a lot of women hold back out of shame, worried that it’s wee, or maybe guys are kind of curious or worried that it’s wee as well.
What Exactly Is It?

Well, the short answer is no one really knows. The scientific studies on squirting are few and far between and the scientific studies contain a very small amount of people.
For example, one commonly cited study on squirting, which I will talk about, had a grand total of seven entrants in this study. So not a broad study that looks at the entire population and their squirting habits, but just very small groups, which gives us limited data and you can’t necessarily pull the correct assumptions from it.
You’ve also got some conflicting studies as well. Some studies say it’s mostly wee, maybe with some prostate-specific antigen in there as well.
Others say that it has a small urine content, but really the studies are so small and there’s also a video from a leading sex educator on squirting and you can really see the difference in consistency between urine and squirt.
The Study On Seven Women

However, there was one study done that I find very interesting. This was the one that was done on seven women and what they did was they got them to empty their bladders before any sexual stimulation and then they did an ultrasound on them to make sure that their bladders were empty.
The women were then sexually stimulated or stimulated themselves. They did another ultrasound to confirm that their bladder had indeed filled. They then squirted and then did a third ultrasound to show that their bladder had emptied again.
This study does show us that squirt does come from the bladder and is expelled from the bladder. However, they also studied the women’s urine and their squirting liquid and they did show some differences.
Sheri’s Theory

The author Sheri Winston, who wrote the book Women’s Anatomy of Arousal, which I highly recommend, has a theory that when a woman is aroused, a lot of blood flow goes to that area.
Women have just as much erectile tissue as men. It’s just spread out through that area.
However, Sheri’s theory is that because of all the extra blood and fluid in the area that some of that fluid could actually pass through the cell walls and go back into the bladder.
So rather than it being wee in the traditional sense, it could be water and fluid that has come due to sexual stimulation and ended up in the bladder and then been expelled from the bladder.
There’s also the theory that during squirting that some of the liquid and fluid could pass directly into the urethra as well and come out and not ever enter the bladder at all. And then there’s also secretion from glands in the area too.
So there’s a lot of different factors at play here. It’s still very unclear whether or not squirt is wee. From my own personal experience it definitely has some similarities but also some differences to it.
Does It Really Matter?

But ultimately at the end of the day, I just want to ask you the question, does it really matter whether it’s wee or not? Is it really that big of a deal?
Squirting is absolutely beautiful. It can be incredibly sexy and a huge turn on and squirting orgasms can feel absolutely amazing for your partner and give them some of the best experiences of their life.
I think sharing that together is something that’s amazing. I think it should be absolutely shame free.
Enjoy it together, encourage your partner or be shame free yourself and be like, “Yes, I am a squirter and this is amazing,” and have a good attitude towards it. Whether it’s wee or not, who really cares?
